Abstract:The study investigates women's involvement in sustainable farm-to-consumer food chains in Nigeria's tourism sector, involving interviews with 348 participants from 15 farms. The study revealed that women make significant contributions in agricultural production (χ2 = 15.76, p = 0.0041), food processing (χ2 = 10.35, p = 0.0012), and implementing sustainable practices (χ2 = 8.59, p = 0.0034). However, they face substantial challenges, with access to credit (34.48%), cultural barriers (28.74%), and market access (27.30%) being the most prevalent issues. Despite these obstacles, women's involvement has notable positive impacts on the sector, including increased income generation (Mean: 4.11, 82.76% agreeing), job creation (Mean: 3.98, 77.01% agreeing), and improved livelihoods (Mean: 4.04, 81.32% agreeing).
