Conservation of the Environment using Climate Smart Forestry with Non Timber Tree Species.

Abstract:Environmental conservation and sustainability is a global challenge that requires an organized and holistic approach to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change resulting from different human activities that have degraded the environment, polluted the elements and destroyed natural habitats. Agricultural techniques like: crop rotation, shifting cultivations and organic farming which aids preservation of natural habitats and biodiversity have been earlier employed to combat this challenge. However, with recent advances in Climate Smart Forestry, the introduction of Non-Timber Forest Trees Species (NTFTS) into forests and agriculture farmlands as climate smart option has gained popularity.
