Multi-stage sampling procedure was used to select 120 respondents and semi-structured questionnaire were used to elicit information from the respondents in the study area. Data obtained were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics such as mean, standard deviation, the Household Food Security Access Scale (HFIAS) and ordered probit regression. Results revealed that majority (74.2%) of the respondents were male with mean age of 40.34 years and 89.2% had formal education with a mean household income of ₦76,419.00. About 30% of the households produced more than 200 kg of maize while (41.67%) consumed less than 25% of their production. Result of the per capita consumption of maize, indicates that most of the households (32.5%) consumed less than 5 kg of maize.
