Abstract:Women in many societies are pivotal in community organization and development for improved living. Globally, climate change and food insecurity pose a pressing challenge. Thus, sustainable agriculture is crucial for human survival. Women’s participation in shaping the future of global food security and environmental sustainability is germane, as the outcomes of their involvement in planning and implementing food security strategies are more inclusive and effective. This review highlights the multifaceted roles of women and their active participation in agricultural research and community engagements toward promoting food security in Nigeria.
